Cantemus Cum Spiritu at Bristol Cathedral 23rd & 24th May

Get ready for a musical adventure with Cantemus Cum Spiritu!

Designed for advanced singers and choir leaders, these events are your chance to come together, sing at an elite level, and have an unforgettable time. If you’re applying, make sure you’re either totally prepared musically or sight-read like a pro. We want everyone to hit the ground running so we can dive straight into making beautiful music.

As a guide to what we expect, you should be confident that you can sing through all pieces with no errors on arrival, and that, if you found that everyone else on your voice part failed to turn up, you would be able to confidently hold your line.

Our mission is simple: to help you fall in love with church music all over again and to bring that joy back to your own choirs. We start each event with the confidence that you know the notes and lyrics, so we can really get into the music and unleash your full expressive power.

Join us at Bristol Cathedral on 23th & 24th May, for a weekend of fantastic singing:

May 23rd : We’ll rehearse from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, then get ready for Evensong with a rehearsal from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and the service at 5.15pm.
May 24th : We begin our day with a 8.45 am rehearsal for the 10.00 am Eucharist, and then we’ll regroup at 1:30 pm for the 3.30 pm Evensong.

We have space for 30 singers—10 Sopranos, 8 Altos, 6 Tenors, and 6 Basses.

The proposed programme will be Tomkins – Responses, Holman in F Minor, Blitheman – In Pace Inidipsum, Byrd 5 Mass for Five Voices, Tallis – If ye Love Me, Dyson in D, Rogers – Breathe on Me Breath of God;

Feel free to choose your own accommodation to suit your style and comfort.
